Empowering Future Designers Through Industry Exposure

Chandigarh, 22 November 2024 – SXILL continues to lead in bridging the gap between education and industry by organizing an exclusive industrial visit to Idea Catalyst, a state-of-the-art printing and publishing facility. The visit was spearheaded by Vineet Raj Kapoor, Co-founder of SXILL, along with faculty members, and was tailored to equip students with real-world insights into the dynamic printing and publishing industry.

Hands-On Learning at Idea Catalyst

The Aug24 Cohort from SXILL gained an immersive experience, learning about every stage of the printing and publishing process:

• Designing and Layout Preparation
• Offset Printing Techniques
• Die-Making and Folding
• Lamination and Embossing
• Cutting, Box-Making, and Automated Packaging

The students witnessed top-notch machinery in action, such as offset printing machines, lamination systems, and automated packaging units. Idea Catalyst’s association with global brands like Samsung, Sony, and Gunsburg further emphasized the facility’s industry standards.

Portfolio Showcase and Expert Feedback

As part of the visit, students showcased their print portfolios and underwent mock interviews with industry experts. This activity enabled them to receive constructive feedback and identify improvement areas. Employers’ evaluations contributed significantly to students’ overall marks, reflecting SXILL’s commitment to industry-aligned education.
