In a major step towards bridging academia with industry-driven design education, PEC Chandigarh has collaborated with SXILL to deliver a comprehensive Animation course for their 2nd Year BDes students. The curriculum, carefully curated by SXILL’s expert mentors, covers both Graphic Design fundamentals and advanced Animation techniques, giving students a holistic exposure to creative design fields.

The course officially launched on January 20, 2025, with a keynote address by Vineet Raj Kapoor, Founder of SXILL and India’s Expert on Industrial Design Technology for WorldSkills. In his session, he offered insights into the journey from Graphic Design to career-ready Design skills, emphasizing the mindset and thinking framework required to succeed in the field. He also hinted at ideas from his forthcoming book SOLVXD: Think in Steps, which aims to close the gap between design theory and practice in India.

Sakshi Sharma, UI Expert at SXILL, is also part of the core team delivering the course. The collaboration was made possible by the joint efforts of the Centre of Excellence at PEC, the Centre for Skill Development, and the Design Department under the Industrial & Production Engineering School.

Neelu Kapoor, Founder of SXILL and Graphic Design Jury at IndiaSkills, expressed her appreciation for the initiative and the talent pool at PEC:

“This marks our first official course delivery at PEC Chandigarh, and we’re excited to contribute to nurturing the creative potential of its students. SXILL has mentored learners from Thapar, UBS, PU, DPU, Chitkara, MIT WPU, and many national platforms like Smart India Hackathon and IndiaSkills.”

This course will run from January to April 2025 on the PEC Campus and sets a strong precedent for future academic-industry collaborations.
