Countering the current lack of jobs in the Indian Animation Market, SXILL Character Animation student Nikhil Tomar was directly offered a job at PhilmCGI, India’s top animation studio Founded by Anand Bhanushali, the man behind the Disney film Delhi Safari.

Nikhil Tomar hails from the small town of Panipat, had no creative background. He was enamoured with it, when someone he knew from Yamunanagar made it big with Maya Entertainment Limited after learning at SXILL. After enrolling for the course, he worked under the direct guidance of the Ex-Lead Supervisor cum proxy Director of Motu Patlu at SXILL. Being a slow learner he sometimes found it difficult but kept working hard. He opted for the Laddering Program at the SXILLUP arm of SXILL. Working tirelessly he improved his skills along with fellow Animators and trained for 3D Character Animation.

During his course his work was reviewed by Industry Experts from Lakshya Digital and Technicolor Studios amongst others. Geared with their Feedback and continuous guidance from his Expert Faculty, he improved dramatically. His Test was liked so much by PhilmCGI that they offered him a job instead of the usual internship they give to even the best candidates from institutes which run franchisee chains.

Nikhil said, “I can’t believe that my dreams could come true so fast. I have only trained for less than 2 years, whereas my friends would continue to study animation for 4 years at Universities and still can’t get a break. I am lucky that I took the right decision to study Animation at SXILL.”

Neelu Kapoor (Indian Graphics Expert Indiaskills, and Founder SXILL) shared “I am happy that Nikhil got a Direct Job Offer even though the Animation Job market had dried up. We are happy that we choose the tough path to train just 20 students in a batch, with only 3 batches every year. This allows us to remain focused on Quality and not run after money like many universities which train 100s of animation and design students in big lecture halls thus ruining their learning experience. I am sure other students would learn their lesson from this success story. Our Animator Program is backed by MESC/ NSDC and so our student also get a government recognized certification that is part of the NEP, and earns then credits in their APAR Account as well.”
