SXILL Founder Guides Students at UIET Workshop on AI, CAD, and Robotics

Chandigarh, January 17, 2025Vineet Raj Kapoor, Founder of SXILL, mentored and guided students at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University Chandigarh, during the 3-Day UIET Workshop on AI, CAD, and Robotics, held from 15–17 January 2025.

Organized by the Sensor Energy and Automation Lab (SEAL), UIET, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s SPARC initiative, this UIET workshop focused on “Hands-On AI, CAD Modeling, and Robotics for Advanced Engineering Solutions.”


Workshop Highlights

The event brought together experts from various fields, including collaborations with:

  • Dr. Gaurav Sapra, Professor Rajesh Kumar, and Dr. Garima Joshi from UIET.
  • Dr. Ankur Gupta from PGIMER’s Department of Cardiology.
  • International experts from Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK.

Vineet Raj Kapoor, India’s Lead Expert for Industrial Design Technology at WorldSkills, delivered an insightful session on WorldSkills IDT competitions, sharing preparation strategies and tips for participants aiming for WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai. He also explained the Indiaskills selection process, guiding students through district, state, regional, and national stages, inspiring them to aim for excellence.


Expert Insights and Acknowledgments

During the valedictory session, Professor Rajesh Kumar thanked all trainers and contributors, particularly Vineet Raj Kapoor, for his invaluable guidance. PU Dean of International Students, Professor Kewal Krishan, emphasized the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and shared research on AI-based signature verification models addressing real-world challenges.

Kapoor expressed,
“Mentoring students from UIET, Panjab University, was a fulfilling experience. Bridging the gap between theory and practice is crucial for the next generation of innovators, and I’m thrilled to share my journey from academia to platforms like Indiaskills and WorldSkills.”

He also teased his upcoming book, “SOLVXD: Think in Steps,” designed to guide young professionals and educators.

Neelu Kapoor, Co-Founder of SXILL, highlighted the event’s significance:
“This marks the first SXILL mentoring session at UIET. We’ve previously mentored students at institutions like Thapar, PEC, Chitkara, and participated in events like Smart India Hackathon and Indiaskills, earning widespread appreciation.”
